'My dog ate my homework', but with way more gravitas . . .

Another Camp Nickleby teacher shared this with me. The kids are required to have their Camp ID cards with them when they work in our computer lab. One young lad explained why he didn't have his with him . . .

The reason I don't have my I.D. card is I forgot it. I left it in my other pair of pants. I will probably bring it tomorrow if I find my other pants, or if I buy a new one. So this is the reason that I don't have my I.D. card. I had nothing else to write about so I made up something. Yesterday, some monsters came to my house. So I ran. They started to chase me all over town. They couldn't keep up with me. I thought I lost them. I started to walk home. They showed up again and started chasing me again! They finally caught up when I tripped. It turns out they were just trying to tell me that I was out of toilet paper. I'll bring it tomorrow.

AND ON THE MEDICAL FRONT . . .
Two students of mine were involved in a medical-related conversation. The young lady mentioned that she suffered from spina bifida when she was a child. She has been able to overcome her condition and is even on the Camp's soccer team. The other student mentioned that he suffers from photosynthesis! This might be a diagnosis for Dr. House!
